Installation notes - important!
  • select journal style 'Flexible Squares'
  • select 'use external stylesheet' then copy-paste the code above into the box.
  • do NOT give your blurb a header (but you an disable it entirely if you wish)
  • yes, this is headerimage friendly. simply add your image under .headerimage
  • do NOT hotlink images instead, please right-click save-as the images below and upload them.
How to upload & replace images
  • at the bottom of this page is a list of images. open them to their full size and them save them to your comp.
  • (please note when saving to call your images by the names beside them).
  • next you need to upload images to your own host and retrieve their direct links.
  • if you're not sure how to do this, scroll to STEP TWO in this walkthrough.
  • now, you need to replace the links in the stylesheet.
  • copy the stylesheet into the custom css as you normally would.
  • search for the name of the image - i'm doing 'blockquoteimage' first.
tip: easy way to search: hit CTRL F
  • all you have to do is copy the direct link for the blockquoteimage.
  • make sure you replace ALL of the images. the main background and ljuser appear multiple times.
  • hit SAVE and you're done.
  • The same goes for the icon tables below.
I threw the icon tables in because I'm always looking for icon tables to match my layout. To increase them in size, simply continue copying the rows as shown below.
  • post an entry as you normally would.
  • making sure that you have the HTML tab selected, copy the CSS in there.
  • now, to add a row of icons, copy the highlighted section as shown.
  • and now paste it where the yellow line is.
  • when you go back to RICH TEXT you will have a new row.
name (replace in css with your new img link)image (right+click saveas and then upload)

Hello~ I've been using this layout for a while (it's very lovely, by the way), and I've noticed that when I try to put images in journal entries they become transparent.

Is there a way to fix this?
nikolat3sla: awww please?nikolat3sla on October 16th, 2011 10:03 pm (UTC)
no sorry, that is part of the layout. everything in the entry has a transparency - including the images. if you want things to be opaque - take off the transparency entirely in the entry area. *hug*

This is a very beautiful layout I was going to use it for a community that my friend and I was starting but we can't seem to get the sidebar to work right. It will show the Links and Tags it won't let us click on them.

Not sure if you'll be able to help without actually logging in under our names but any ideas or suggestion that you might have to fits this would be helpful. @_@

it seems to work just fine for me :D

you might want to make sure you disable the lj default theme to remove the extra borders around things.
