LOL and i've also scavanged a playstation 500gb hard drive which i'm slipped into my comp and installed linux on. now, it may not be my computer (i don't have photoshop or windows moviemaker) but at least I can type and sort of work lol :D

*is now forced to understand linux better lol*

i am sure that this is all a plot by my family to turn me into a Linux programmer LMFAO - one which is apparently succeeding.

Please tell me you have plans for getting a NEW laptop soon??? I mean, knowing Linux is all well and good (and GIMP, though not the most user friendly, is a pretty good program), but you've GOT to have something reliable!!!

I know what you mean about it not being 'your' computer. My friend installed a LightScribe drive for me and he installed the Nero 8 Essentials OVER my full suite Nero 7. I am one unhappy Birdie over that one, since now I can't even burn a disc. I uninstalled the ver 8 because it was wreaking havoc with companion programs. So now I'm waiting for the copy of Nero 9 full suite to show up, so I can install it. Grrrr. It's particularly galling since 2 of my friends are waiting on me for discs. *dramatic sigh*

Um, when did I wander off into whiny mode? Sorry 'bout that and best of luck with the laptop.
*huggles and smishes*

LOLRANT

i'm getting a handle on GIMP but GODSDAMN i miss my shortcuts. i keep hitting ctrl keys and getting errors lol. but i have one icon made (points at it) so PROGRESS :D

the scariest bit is everything is done through commands on a prompt screen - that always freaks me out but i'm getting better :D I do happen to love that it's a billion times faster and has split desktops LOL if only it has PS7 and MM we'd be in business!

OMG installed OVER your NERO? you need more illegal software :D

hehehehe I understand. I had GIMP first and switched to PS Elements because it's free through my uni. I still don't do a lot of photo work ('cause I haven't much patience or time), but I think it's MUCH more intuitive.

As to the Nero/disc burning software, ahem, I welcome suggestions via PM or email or whatever.....I'm just saying is all ROFL

Will you be getting a new laptop, or are you going to reconstruct this one?

technically she's in Old City - but there's been a bit of debate recently about whether or not that's actually a subsection of a larger city. the final ep suggests that it is Vancouver but for ficcing purposes it is more than acceptable to call it "OLD CITY" :D

just really busy setting everything up here :D most of today i spent installing photoshop and then downloading textures to get myself back on track. it's been 42 degrees here and i can't stay on my computer too much because it's getting too hot so i'm not really around a huge amount :D but things should settle down once i get back on track - it's so hard moving computer systems LOL it's taking me ages to get around everything :D

but I LOVED your video!
